This month we spoke with Oxfordshire’s promotional printing expert Rich Wickson, Managing Director, Print Ready Ltd.
As a valued client of Modus Accountants we wanted to get his thoughts on his experience working with us, and how we have supported him since joining.
Describe your business and the services you offer
We design and brand anything analogue. We can put your logo on clothing, workwear, buildings, vehicles, banners, flags, and of course anything printed like flyers and business cards.
When you first started working with Modus what services were you looking for?
Modus were recommended to me through a business networking event. I was looking for a less ‘corporate’ accountant – my previous accountant was hard to reach, expensive, and only concerned with ticking boxes. I was looking for a company that could leave me doing what I’m good at, rather than spending hours every month trying to muddle through with bookkeeping.
What has Modus helped you with most?
I was very new to running a business, especially the bookkeeping side. I wanted to keep this in-house, and Modus even sent a team member around a couple of times for some Xero training. They’ve also got me out of jail with a last minute VAT return, along with some great advice from Mark on growing my business. These are the things that make a huge difference in the first couple of years for a new business.
What has been you experience of working with Modus and have they met your expectations?
The team have been great and are quick to answer any questions that I throw their way. As we have grown we’ve utilised them for business advice, payroll, and tax planning.
If you have worked with other accountants how does Modus compare?
Just a willingness to listen and help, and a genuine interest in supporting my business to grow.
What would you say to anyone thinking of joining Modus?
There are plenty of companies pitching to offer accounting services, but I’m convinced you will struggle to find a better balance of skills, advice and value than what Modus offer.
