Having worked with the team at Modus for a number of years, Founder, Steve Farr took the time to answer some quick questions about his experience working with Modus.
In your own words what does your business do and where are you based?
Jewel Home comprises of a group of specialist divisions, dedicated to home improvements. With bases across Hampshire and Surrey, our team are experts in glass and glazing construction, provide you with a convenient one-stop-shop solution. From widows and bi-fold doors to hot tubs and renewable energy solutions, we can do it all.
How long have you been working with Modus and what do we support you with?
We have been working with Modus Accountants for a few years now and am really happy with how things are going. Mark has been supporting us with business coaching and growth advice, whilst the wider team provides us with a range of accountancy services. Their Marketing Manager, Andy, has even helped in assisting members of our own marketing team.
What was it about Modus that appealed to you against other Accountancy Firms?
Unlike other accountancy firms I have worked with, Modus have really taken the time to understand our business. They have also been able to draw on their own business experience and use their expertise and knowledge to help us overcome a range of challenges.
When you joined Modus what were the biggest challenges facing your business?
When we joined Modus Accountants business strategy planning and having the confidence/knowledge on what to do next was a real challenge.
What has been your biggest achievement since joining Modus?
Since joining Modus we’ve grown significantly and evolved as business. We started out offering a range of windows and doors, and have now widened our services to provide a complete home improvement solution.
What has surprised you most about working with Modus Accountants?
What I love about Modus Accountants is you are free to pick up the phone, and they are always on hand when you need them. They do so much more than a typical accountant. You really will be surprised.
Outside of Accountancy Support has Modus helped you in any other areas of your business?
Yes. Mark has been my business coach for a couple of years now. He’s been a great help in shaping the business and supporting us to overcome strategic challenges. Meeting with him on a regular basis has also helped give me clarity around business growth decisions, the team, and a range of other things.
Would you recommend Modus Accountants to other business owners?
Yes 100%. I would not hesitate to recommend Modus Accountants to other business owners or sole traders.
What are you looking forward to in 2022?
We’re not slowing down just yet. In 2022 I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our business and opening our new showroom. Hopefully it won’t be long before we get the hot tubs bubbling and start delivering them in time for summer.
