Job Title:       Office Manager

Job Type:      Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Location:       Frilford Heath Golf Club, Abingdon, Oxfordshire and Witney, Oxfordshire (Travel between two office locations is required)

Salary Range:       £20k – £28k DoE

Abingdon’s Modus Accountants are looking for an Office Manager to support their energetic team at their offices in Frilford Heath Golf Club, Abingdon and Witney, Oxfordshire.

As a close nit team, it is essential that the right candidate is full of energy and has a warm and welcoming personality. Being the first point of call for visiting clients and prospects, you must be punctual and love meeting new people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, committed person, with experience in managing day-to-day office operations, and client interactions.

  • Answer and direct phone calls and liaise with clients
  • Maintain company databases
  • PA support to management team
  • Maintain company databases
  • Supporting the Modus team at internal and external events
  • Assist with the new client onboarding process
  • Prepare bookkeeping for multiple clients
  • Assist with client payroll preparation and submission
  • Assist with filings to Companies House including company secretarial services
  • Assist with client/HMRC registrations
  • Assist with credit control
  • Other tasks as directed by line manager/company directors


  •  Full UK driving license


  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • You must be a team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach
  • Methodical and able to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proactive nature and ability to work in a small team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills and solve own problems


    • Complete client services/tasks on time according to internal and external deadlines
    • Work in line with company behaviours and organisational culture
    • Deal with clients, suppliers, and other employees professionally at all times
    • Allocate the appropriate amount of time to tasks (revenue generating activities)
    • Prioritise activities according to company urgencies
